The exterior shul wall is adorned in a terrazzo ( Terrazzo   is a composite material poured in place or precast, which is used for floor and wall treatments. It consists of   marble,   quartz, granite,   glass   or other suitable chips, sprinkled or unsprinkled, and poured with a binder that is cementitious, chemical or a combination of both. Terrazzo is cured, ground and polished to a smooth surface or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface.)  and the design elements of the wall which depicts the 12 tribes of Israel have been accurately depicted by the artist Carrol Boyes and then incorporated in her mezuzah design which has then been cast in pewter.

These designs have all been checked and approved by Mr. Gerard De Kamper – curator of the Edoardo Villa Museum located at the Old Hans Merensky Building at the University of Pretoria South Africa, for accuracy and also by the Rabbinical council of South Africa for  halachic confirmation.

Each mezuzah is approx 165mm long x 135mm wide x 25mm high (incl backplate).They can comfortably hold a 100mm mezuzah scroll/klaf.
