Tree This mezuzah cover incorporates artist Edoardo Villa’s panel that depicts a tree. This is the symbol for the tribe of Asher. Asher was the eighth son of Jacob and the second son of Zilpah, the handmaiden of Leah. In the blessing of Jacob in Genesis 49, Jacob proclaimed that Asher’s, “bread would have richness”, alluding to a land rich in olive groves. Therefore the olive tree is the symbol for this tribe.
